A QUARTER of women want liposuction to help get rid of the weight they pile on over Christmas and New Year, says a survey.

While a quarter said the fat-sucking treatment would be their choice weight-loss method, one in 10 would like to have their stomach stapled in the battle to beat the bulge.

Food and dieting were at the forefront of most women's minds, with a third saying they thought about diets every single day, said the poll for the makers of Detoxil detox tablets.

Some 12% of women said they expected to gain over half a stone during the festive season, with 44% predicting a 1-3lb gain and 36% fearing putting on 4-6lb.

More than nine out of 10 women will put on weight over Christmas.

The survey found women were affected in many areas of their life because of concerns about their weight.

Two-thirds said they would have more sex if they felt more comfortable about their bodies.

A third said they hated feeling out of breath when doing simple tasks, while a quarter disliked getting undressed in a public changing room.

When asked about why they failed in their diet and detox efforts, more than half of women blamed chocolate.
