Emergency gas repair work in Rastrick is continuing – a week on.

Engineers were sent into Dewsbury Road last Friday - February 13 - after reports of a gas leak.

Two homes were evacuated and the residents put up in a hotel over the weekend.

Temporary traffic lights were installed as engineers set about locating and repairing the leak.

A spokesman for Northern Gas Networks said at least two repairs had been carried out and exploratory work was still underway.

He was unable to say when work would be completed.

The company has previously apologised for any inconvenience.
