A SPECIAL guest stayed at Brighouse's Holiday Inn last night - the William Webb Ellis Cup.
The gleaming gold rugby union World Cup, won by England's heroes in Australia, was taken to the hotel at Clifton by burly security guards who are escorting it around Britain. They took two connecting rooms and kept the trophy with them.
The cup was on its way to Newcastle.
Amanda Coupland, the hotel's sales manager, said: "It was a great thrill, even though we could not tell anyone about it until after the cup had left."
