DR TIM HARLAN, author of Hand On Heart, a cookbook for those who want to eat healthily but still enjoy their food, will be visiting Ottakar's in Huddersfield on Tuesday, September 14.
The chef, former restaurateur, writer and now practising physician, will be available to answer questions and sign books from 1.30pm until 2.30pm.
The American writer, whose message is that you can still enjoy red meat, chocolate and cream while beating obesity and heart disease, says his book is all about what you CAN eat if you have special dietary needs.
His recipes, for those wishing or needing to reduce sodium and fat in their diet, are designed to be enjoyed by everyone, not just those who are watching their weight or their cholesterol levels.
Hand On Heart - A Perfectly Ordinary Cookbook is part of the HAND series of easy to follow cookbooks, which include Hand To Mouth - No Ordinary Cookbook, based on recipes used in El Piano, York, an establishment that caters for people with food intolerances and allergies; and Hand In Hand - An Extraordinary Cookbook, specifically for children.
Both these books will also be on display.
