The Yorkshire leg of the Tour de France will include the climb up Holme Moss.

Race direct Christian Prudhomme told an audience in Paris today that the gruelling hill would be one of nine tough challenges on the second day of next year's Tour de France.

The announcement was made as part of a presentation in Paris this morning.

The race begins in Leeds on Saturday, July 5 and will pass through Otley, Ilkley, Skipton, Threshfield, Kettlewell, Buckden, Thoralby, Aysgarth, Bainbridge, Hawes, Thwaite, Gunnerside, Reeth, Leyburn, East Witton, Marsham West Tanfield, Ripon, South Stainley before heading into Harrogate.

Stage two on the following day will start in York and head onto Knaresborough, Addingham, Keighley, Hebden Bridge, Elland, Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Woodhead, Langsett and finish in Sheffield.
