The Yorkshire Tour de France route 2014 has been officially confirmed - and we're on it.

Organisers of the spectacle announced the route in Paris at a packed Press conference this morning.

Huddersfield and Holmfirth will be on Sunday, July 6 - the second stage of this year's Tour which begins in Leeds the previous day.

The stage including our area begins in York and winds its way through some of Yorkshire best countryside before heading into Sheffield for the stage end.

After the start at York the rider will head out to the A59 and head past Knaresborough and Blubberhouses, before dropping onto the A6034 near Addingham before joining the A629 near Silsden.

It's then onto Hawarth, Stanbury and Oxenhope before joining the B6113 to Hebden Bridge and then the A646 to Mytholmroyd.

From there it's the A58 through Ripponden, Elland,  and up through Blackley before heading over Ainley Top down Halifax Road round the ringroad and down Chapel Hill and then through Lockwood, Berry Brow and Honley before going through Holmfirth then up the A6024 up Holme Moss .           

The riders will then head down the other side to Langsett on the A628 before heading into Sheffield.
