Kirklees College is calling all employers in the Colne and Holme valleys who can offer engineering apprenticeships.

The college has received applications from keen and motivated candidates – but sees a lack of job vacancies in the area.

Engineering curriculum team leader John Markowycz said: “We have some really good quality candidates who have applied for mechanical engineering apprenticeships which would cover traditional machining and more advanced manufacturing using CNC – Computer Numerical Control – machines.

“Most manufacturers in this area would have that type of equipment or would need maintenance personnel to maintain all their equipment covering both mechanical and electrical maintenance.”
