Police admit they are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a woman from Cleckheaton.

They say 46-year-old Tracey Bamford left her home in Cleckheaton at 2.30am on Wednesday and has not been seen since.

Police spent several hours yesterday searching areas near her home.

Tracey left her family home on foot and had no belongings other than a mobile phone which is now switched off.

Her family are extremely concerned and her disappearance is ‘out of character’.

Det Insp Mark Truelove, of Kirklees CID, said: “This is completely out of character for Tracey.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who believes they have seen her since the early hours of Wednesday morning or with information about her current whereabouts.

“We would similarly urge Tracey herself to make contact with the police or a family member to confirm that she is safe and well.”

She is described as around 5ft tall, with long, dyed ginger/golden hair, with a mole on her right cheek. She was last seen wearing a long, black coat with fur hood and black boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kirklees District Police via 101.
