Police are hunting a scabby robber who demanded cash from a woman using a cash machine in Huddersfield.

Officers want to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which happened at 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 9 outside the Sainsbury's supermarket on Southgate Road in Huddersfield town centre.

A 48-year-old woman was approached by a man while she was withdrawing cash from the mini bank outside.

He demanded cash but fled empty handed towards the Aspley area after the victim shrugged him off.

The suspect was described as white,  six feet tall and of medium build wearing dark coloured nylon tracksuit bottoms, a dark jacket and a purple woolly hat.

His right hand was bandaged and he was described as unshaven with a slightly pudgy face which was marked by several large scabs which were roughly the size of five pence pieces.

Anyone who saw the incident, recognises the man described, or has seen someone matching the description hanging around outside the store is asked to speak to DC Paul Morrison at Huddersfield CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
