A DANCE night for the under-18s has found a new home after the closure of a Huddersfield town centre nightclub.

Organisers of Dance Paradise were left stumped for a venue when Heaven and Hell at New Street shut.

Now the dance nights are moving to the Visage complex at Folly Hall.

Promoter Adam Gregg said: "Unfortunately, we moved to Heaven and Hell just before it closed, so we were without a venue.

"But we've decided to move to Visage. I used to go to under-18s' nights there and they were really good.

"We'll play a range of music, from chart to r'n'b to party stuff. There is nothing else for them in Huddersfield as far as going to clubs is concerned."

The first event at Visage will be on Monday, December 20.

Adam is asking organisations which advise on teenage pregnancy, drugs, mobile phone theft and other issues to come to the nights to offer advice.

"We don't want to send them home with any material that would worry their parents," said Adam.

"We think long and hard about what advice is appropriate. We want to teach them about safer clubbing."

The events will be advertised through schools and on the website www.danceparadise. co.uk, where youngsters can also become members.

Registration will entitle them to cheaper entry to the nights and to news updates.
