YOUNG people throughout West Yorkshire will have access to free confidential advice, guidance and support over the festive period on any issues.
They can seek help on concerns including health, relationships, housing, finance, education and careers.
Connexions Direct - in partnership with Connexions West Yorkshire - is to provide a free telephone, text and web-based helpline between 8am and 2am every day. The service will ensure young people aged 13 to19 in West Yorkshire will have somewhere to turn for support in a crisis situation over Christmas, when most drop-in centres are closed.
Connexions is the national support, advice and guidance organisation for young people bringing together the services that can help them in all aspects of their lives. Richard Smith, chief executive of Connexions West Yorkshire, said: "This can be a difficult time of year for young people. The new service will ensure that every young person aged 13 to19 throughout West Yorkshire will have somewhere to turn for advice and support - even on Christmas Day."
The Connexions Direct freephone number is 080 800 13 2 19.
