YOUNG performers showed off their talents at the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival.

Yesterday saw the final speech and drama classes and the beginning of the string and guitar classes at the festival at Huddersfield Town Hall.

Adjudicator Viviane Ronchetti told the Examiner: “The musicians have been playing at such a terrific standard for their age.

“Some of them are very young and just by listening to them you wouldn’t realise how young they are because they are such accomplished players.”

This year the festival included a new speech and drama class for non-Christian religious readings in which three Spring Grove Junior School pupils read passages from the Qur’an.
