Let's hope you made the best of the glorious weekend weather as it’s due to go downhill somewhat from today.

Although it will remain warm it will become increasingly unsettled with showery, sometimes even thundery, outbreaks of rain this week.

Huddersfield weather expert Paul Stevens said: “It was a lovely warm weekend with cloud only really starting to build this afternoon.”

Temperatures reached 22°C (71°F) in Waterloo today – just one degree higher than Saturday.

Paul said the temperature was about 6°C higher than normal for this time of year.

And he revealed that two weather fronts will be colliding above West Yorkshire – high pressure from the east bringing dry and warm weather – and cooler air from the Atlantic.

“There will be more moisture in the air with a chance of a shower of even a thundery downpour and some could be quite lengthy at times but it should stay warm, especially at night.”
