SKELMANTHORPE Youth and Community Centre may be converted to houses.
The centre, on Lodge Street, was set up in 1976.
But trustees want to relocate to the nearby Savoy Squash Club building.
The youth club needs to move because of the expense of bringing its existing premises up to the level required to meet disability access legislation.
A planning application has been submitted to Kirklees Council for a change of use of the centre to three houses with parking spaces.
If planning permission is granted, the club will be sold and the squash club improved.
