THIEVES stole a teenager's phone as he tried to sell it to them.

The 17-year-old met the two youths on playing fields off Gilbert Grove in Crosland Moor at 3.30pm on Tuesday after telling friends he wanted to sell his phone.

They looked at the phone and one took the SIM card out and gave it to the teenager.

He said he would go off with the phone and be back in 10 minutes with the money.

The pair fled with the phone when the teenager became suspicious

Both are Asian, aged 19 or 20, around 5ft 11ins and unshaven with short black hair.

One wore a red Liverpool soccer shirt, a cream hooded zip-up fleece and black tracksuit bottoms.

He also wore a curbed chain around his neck.

The other has an infected inoculation scar on his upper left arm.

He wore a black T-shirt, black three-quarter-length trousers and Nike trainers.
