Tory Craig Whittaker retained the Calder Valley seat with a majority of 609.
A total of six candidates contested the seat to become the next MP for Calder Valley.
Janet Battye stood for the Liberal Democrats; Josh Fenton-Glynn was the Labour candidate; Robert Holden was independent; Paul Rogan stood for UKIP; Kieran Turner was the Green candidate and Craig Whittaker was the Conservative candidate.
Voters went to the polls from 7am on Thursday with the polling stations closing at 10pm.
Results for Kirklees and Calderdale were expected to be announced from 4am.
By the time the result is known in Calder Valley the overall outcome of the election may already have been decided.
