Labour's Paula Sherriff has retained Dewsbury with 28,893 votes - against Tory Beth Prescott's 25,493.
A total of four candidates contested the seat to become the next MP for Colne Valley.
The candidates are Simon Cope (Green), Ednan Hussain (Lib Dems), Beth Prescott (Conservative) and Paula Sherriff (Labour).
Voters went to the polls from 7am on Thursday with the polling stations closing at 10pm.
Results for Kirklees and Calderdale are expected to be announced from 4am.
