Lowerhouses singer set to appear on X-Factor
AS the X Factor enters the boot camp stage, Huddersfield singer Ashford Campbell (inset) is hoping for success.
Ashford, of Lowerhouses, appeared on the Xtra Factor in week one having won over the judges with a performance of Justin Timberlakes Senorita.
He secured his place in boot camp and is set to appear on the forthcoming show this weekend.
Having accompanied his vocals with some stunning dance moves, the Greenhead College student sparked smiles from N-Dubz singer Tulisa who said: You can sing, you can dance, were here to find a superstar and youve got the package. I love it.
Louis Walsh and Kelly Rowland recognised his potential, while Gary Barlow joked that his dance moves reminded him of himself.
Ashford is the younger brother of Sunderland striker and ex-Manchester United player Fraizer Campbell and is currently studying languages at Leicester University.
Having always had a passion for the stage, he was part of Channel Fives Dont Stop Believing super-group last year.
After his performance in August, bookies listed him in their top four contenders to win the entire show.
He described the live show: It was so surreal singing in front of the judges especially as I have always loved Take That, Destinys Child and more recently N-Dubz but they were all so nice.
