Head boy at Castle Hall school Usdama Patel always gives 100%

“We all fall short sometimes but there’s nothing wrong with falling short when you’ve tried your best.”

Usama was interviewed for the role of head boy and impressed his teachers with his presenting skills and attitude towards school life.

Head of Year 11, Anna Spiers, said: “Usama is very much involved in our school community and life at Castle Hall School.

“He is Ismay House Captain again this year; he takes part in all house activities and is academically gifted with very high GCSE target grades.

“His behaviour is exemplary and he is an excellent role model for all of our students.

“Usama is an excellent member of the Castle Hall School community and a pleasure to have around school.”

Outside school, Usama is also enrolled in the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and is working towards his silver award.

Teachers say he is very popular and has lots of friends at the Richard Thorpe Avenue School.

It’s still not too late to get involved with Shine 2009.

The festival runs until July 10 and schools across the country are taking part in various activities to celebrate young talent.

Young people can showcase their own talent by uploading photos, videos, stories, films or blogs on the Shine Week website.

See www.shineweek.co.uk for more of what’s going on in our area.
