Hairy Bikers Diet Club: Meet the mum who lost 2 and a half stone in 2 months

Don't just take Dave and Si's word for it, the Hairy Bikers Diet Club really works - here's mum-of-two Roxy Brich's inspirational story

Roxy: Before and after losing 2 and a half stone

Now it’s all very well us telling you about our Hairy Bikers' Diet Club and the weight we’ve lost, but we don’t want you to just take our word for it...

We’ve got lots of fantastic members who want to shout about their success from the rooftops.

Here’s our inspirational Diet Clubber Roxy Birch for starters.

Roxy is a mum of two from Surrey, has already lost 2 and a half stone in just two months… and here’s what she has to say about joining up:

"It dawned on me that I had no pictures of myself with my children. I avoided photographers on birthdays, christenings, Christmas; I was the one lurking in the background or taking the picture.

"I had tried loads of ‘diets’, eating uninspiring salads and trying to cut back; as I didn’t weigh myself it was easy to fall back into old habits. Although I tried to eat healthy meals, I was also snacking on biscuits and left-over fish fingers.”

So what makes the Bikers' approach to dieting different?

“With the structure and variety of the Hairy Bikers' Diet Club, losing weight this time around has been surprisingly easy!

"Once I got into the swing of it, I found the Hairy Dieter books a good source of the most delicious meals that all the family could enjoy with me.

"The ‘Fake-away’ recipes are great, especially the Coconut and Prawn Curry and the Chicken Tikka Masala.

"They keep the husband happy, whilst helping me stick to my diet too. The fluffy banana pancakes are a favourite with the kids”

Roxy is delighted by other effects of her weight loss:

“Emotionally I am more confident, and I can achieve things now. My husband is very proud of me.”

Roxy's top tips for staying motivated

  1. Keep yourself driven: always have a goal such as an item of clothing you’re desperate to fit into.

  2. Keep reminding yourself of how far you’ve come.  I now regret my lack of ‘before pictures’; so take one, even if you don’t want to look at it today, because you’re likely to be pleasantly surprised in 6 weeks’ time.

  3. Be firm with yourself: get on the scales and take action.

  4. Take it one day at a time. Deal with today, and then deal with tomorrow when you get there.

  5. Don’t be harsh on yourself if you slip up and DON’T use it as a reason to quit.
