The Huddersfield Examiner Baby of the Year competition is back and we are on the hunt for this year's top of the tots.
Photo sessions took place during August and entrants were then invited to return and choose their entry from the photos taken.
All photos will be featured in our bumper Baby of the Year supplement printed in the Huddersfield Examiner on Saturday 12th September 2015 and then it's over to you to vote for your winner!
The finalists from each category will be revealed in our Top 40 printed in the Huddersfield Examiner on Saturday 26th September 2015 when you can have the chance to vote for your overall winner and crown this tot the Huddersfield Examiner Baby of the Year 2015!
There are four age categories to choose from:
- 0-9 months
- 10-18 months
- 19-35 months
- 3-5 years
Our overall winner will receive the title of Huddersfield Examiner Baby of the Year 2015 along with a 20”x16” portrait and the other three category winners will each receive a 10”x12” portrait.

Terms and Conditions
Entrance to the competition will automatically involve the publishing of the baby’s name and photograph. Photos may be used in paper and on examiner.co.uk and associated social media sites. All pictures entered correctly into the competition will be printed in paper during September 2015 and may be printed over a number of consecutive days.
The Huddersfield Daily Examiner cannot be held responsible for the quality of photographic print in the newspaper or any misspellings of entrants’ names, or for missing/non-featured photos. All entry photos must be originals taken by the official baby of the year photographers at The Piazza Centre 10-22 August 2015.
No photo purchase necessary to enter; however you will have the option to purchase additional packages and gifts. Any purchases are independent from the competition and The Huddersfield Examiner has no association with any transactions made.
Any persons who do not return to the venue to view their photos will not appear in the paper supplements. Entrants will be placed in the following categories according to their age on the day of the photograph, 0-9 months, 10- 18 months, 18 months- 3 years, 3- 5 years. The entrant must not have reached their 6th birthday by this date. All photographs remain the property of the Huddersfield Daily Examiner and will not be returned.
Finalists and eventual winners will be decided by readers’ votes via a premium telephone line. All entrants will first feature in a supplement on Saturday 12 September 2015. The top 10 from each category will appear in a second round of voting when the top 40 appears in paper on Saturday 26 September 2015. Dates of supplements subject to change.
The winner is the child who receives the greatest votes. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker round will be implemented. The winners will be decided by reader’s votes via a premium telephone line 50p per call, plus your phone company’s access charge (50p per call/50p per text). Votes received after the closing date will not be counted but you may still be charged.
Prizes are a 20”x16” portrait plus custody of the official Examiner Baby of the Year Trophy for one year for the overall winner, and a 10”x12” portrait for the three other category winners. There is no part/whole cash alternative. The decision of the editor is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
Any entrants found to have their voting credentials advertised via social media without the necessary cost warnings and relevant Terms and Conditions will be disqualified and all votes cancelled. Under these circumstances, voters will still be charged and refunds will not be given for disqualified entrants, or the votes that were made for them.
Lines close for voting for the top 40 finalists at 5pm on Saturday 19 September2015. Lines close for voting for the winners at 5pm 3 October. Employees of the Huddersfield Daily Examiner and associated companies are not eligible to enter.
