Refreshed Rangers are ready for action

UNDERBANK Rangers coach Aaron Perrin is hoping another weekend off will leave his players refreshed for the tough challenges that lie ahead.

Perrin's Rangers visit Cottingham Phoenix in the National Conference tomorrow in what has been a stop-start opening to his side's season.

After the Warrington Wizards home opener, Rangers followed up with an away win over Gateshead Thunder.

A week later they faced a blank weekend as scheduled opponents Bramley were involved in the Northern Rail Cup.

They returned to action with a defeat at East Lancashire before facing another free week.

But now Underbank are gearing up for an almost unbroken run to the end of the campaign, with Perrin hoping they can begin in style.

"This stop-start opening hasn't been great, but it could end up working in our favour," said Perrin.

"It's enabled several players to get over bumps they carried over from their winter commitments.

"So I hope we see a more refreshed side in action at Cottingham."
