Swifts make it five

LINDLEY Swifts made it five out of five with a 42-0 win at Undercliffe.

After 20 tight minutes Olly Brodzinski opened his account by barging over from close range but the goal attempt slipped wide.

But shortly after Brodzinski smashed over for his second, looping out wide, and this time Anthony Knight added the extras.

And despite further attempts to extend their advantage, Swifts had to settle for 10-0 interval advantage.

However, the second half proved a different story, with Swifts showing their attacking prowess to the full.

Workhorse hooker Sam McCluskey ran the show, along with veteran prop Mark Burns, fellow prop Dave Valentine and second-rowers Nick Staples and Jason Knapton.

But with back pairings Alan Kelly and Ryan Whitaker, wingers Bill Brook-Taylor and Steve Booth tackling their hearts out, there were further tries from Staples (2), Mark Burns, Nick Turner, Ryan Whitaker, Sam McCluskey and Steve Brook, followed by three goals from Turner, two from Shane Whitaker and one from Knight to wrap up an excellent 46-0 Swifts win away from home.
