Brown leads return to victory

LINDLEY Swifts bounced back from last week’s top-of-the-table home defeat to Bank Top Harriers with an excellent 62-10 win over Undercliffe in Division III.

After recovering from a shaky start when their visitors took the lead, the Swifts responded magnificently to produce some rock-solid defence and awesome attacking.

A hat trick of tries from Alex Brown underlined Lindley’s scoring ability and ensured the events of seven days earlier were put to bed.

Other tries were scored by Nick Staples, who crossed twice, Sam McCluskey, Shane Whitaker, Chris Hargreaves, Andy Clarke, Nick Turner, Oli Brodzinski and Steve Brook.

Conversions were shared by Turner and Anthony Knight, but the pick of the kicks was a touchline effort from Brook which sailed through the uprights to wrap up a top win.
