Amateur RL: A top night for the All Blacks

MELTHAM All Blacks ARLFC are ready to embark on pre-season training next Thursday (July 2) from 7pm at Meltham Sports Complex.

And it will get under way on the back of an excellent end-of-season presentation evening which was attended by over 60 guests.

A number of player awards were handed out on the night to David Roebuck (best back), Paul Carmody (best forward), Ryan White (most improved player), Rob Lewis (supporters’ player and players’ player), and Matthew Carter and Alan Doig (trainers of the season).

Special thanks went to Nev Carter and Jimmy White for the time and effort they put in on the coaching front, with those efforts expected to start to pay dividends next season.

On the non-playing side, bouquets of flowers were presented to Wendy Carter, Sue White, Michelle Cross and Lesley Lewis for all their behind-the-scenes work.

HUDDERSFIELD RL Players Association are holding their annual meeting at Cowcliffe and Netheroyd Hill Liberal Club tomorrow night.

The meeting gets under way at 8pm, and if any former players or coaching staff wish to come along and air their views and find out how the Players Association functions on their behalf in actively maintaining the tradition of the claret and gold, they will be welcome.
