Amatuer RL: Emley slip to defeat against Westgale Wolves

Emley Moor were in contention against Westgate Wolves until some late defensive slips cost them a 55-30 defeat in Division I.

Jason Southwell and Jake Lockwood scored first-half tries, each kicked by Jack Dyson, as Emley went into half time at 12-12.

Wakefield forged ahead with two converted tries before Daniel Bedford hit back for Emley and Dyson added another kick. A drop goal, two tries and two conversions put the visitors in command, but Emley hit back with a Southwell try and Dyson goal before Scott Wilkinson scored and Karl Adamski add the goal to make the score 30-37.

Unfortunately, just as they looked like getting right back into it, Moor’s defence fell apart and the conceded 18 unanswered points.
