EMLEY MOOR hit the half-century to secure a thrilling 54-38 Division I win over Dearne Valley Bulldogs.
Led by the Pawson brothers, Dan and Dave, the home side were forced to dig deep to take the honours in a real see-saw battle.
Moor looked to be in for an easy afternoon as they led 16-0 early on, with a try each from the Pawsons, another for Kris Shepherd and two Jack Dyson goals.
But despite Shepherd adding his second a little later, the hosts were 22-10 behind at the break.
But in the second half, Emley began to get the better of their visitors.
Dave Pawson scored a second-half half trick and Dan added his second, while Jason Southwell and fit-again Glen Holdsworth also crossed to complete a good win.
There was also a top display from Meltham All Blacks, who returned to winning ways with a 28-22 home Division V triumph over Guiseley.
Paul Carmody set the ball rolling with the first of his side’s six tries.
And this was followed by further scores from Ben Moorhouse, Ryan White, Matthew Carter, Adam Lodge and Rob Lewis, who also landed two of the conversions.
Guiseley nominated Adam and Matthew Lodge as best back and forward.
The All Blacks’ own man-of-the-match was shared between Moorhouse and Carmody.
