LINDLEY Swifts Under 13 side experienced the highs and lows of rugby league as they scored 50 points to win at Siddal – and then conceded even more in defeat at home to Wibsey.
Facing Siddal away from home the Swifts won 50-8, despite the fact that the home side took the lead with a Lawton try.
Lindley hit back with two tries from Costello, who also added a goal, only for Siddal to again touchdown but from then on Lindley took control.
Carter was in top form for the Swifts, making some excellent tackles, and the Swifts added to their lead when Costello ran the full length of the field to score and Alexander added the goal to make it 16-8 at half-time.
A Costello try got Lindley on track early in the second half and then great play by Booth and Broscombe led to another Costello try and goal.
Costello added three more tries as the visitors cut loose and there were two touchdowns for Harrison, both goaled by Costello as Lindley ran up the half ton.
Life was not so sweet at home to Wibsey with the Swifts going down 52-18.
Wibsey scored two early tries before Harrison and Costello led a LIndley revival, with a Costello try closing the gap.
Costello added another try and conversion, but Wibsey were attacking strongly and by half-time the visitors were 30-10 ahead.
The second half brought some more great rugby from Wibsey who extended their lead to 34-10 before Baillie replied for Swifts scoring a try.
Wibsey were a further 12 points to the good before Lindley score again, Costello taking his chance to score just before the final whistle.
