Ponting, nicknamed Punter, is the current captain of Australia and he has played in 148 test matches.

He is a specialist right-handed batsman, a close-catching fielder and a consistent bowler.

He is arguably one of the best Aussie cricketers of this era.

He plays for the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian Domestic Cricket and has played in the Indian Premier League for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

He has scored 39 test centuries behind only Indian Cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar.

England need to be very wary of a player who has scored 12,250 Test runs, the second highest total in history.
