President Sharpe is so proud

THE next two Sundays promise to be particularly proud occasions for Yorkshire Crown Green Bowling Association president Alan Sharpe (above).

Sharpe, of Almondbury, is midway through his first term at the helm of the organisation and has two reasons to cheer – both the senior and junior (September 9 at Broad Oak) county sides will appear in British finals.

“It’s a great achievement by both teams and everyone associated with them,” he said.

“I’m extremely proud and I think both finals (the juniors also take on Warwick and Worcester) will be close but, hopefully, they will go in our favour.”
