Veterans eye back-to-back successes

HUDDERSFIELD’S Inter-District Veterans, sponsored by Perry’s Cars, will be aiming for back-to-back victories when they take on Leeds on Friday (1.30).

The defending champions beat Skipton 35-21 in their opening game and will be hoping to carve out another victory against the team who finished third last season.

The home team has selected Lockwood Park, while the away travel to Harehills Park.

Defending champion Jim Derby’s 14-game unbeaten run has come to end in the Clifford Crawshaw Classic at Sowerby Bridge Hill Crest.

Derby – the champion for the last two years – was beaten 31-28 by James Senior, of Elland.
