Bowls: New competition sparks interest

HUDDERSFIELD bowlers are gearing up to compete in the Huddersfield Bowling League’s inaugural Autumn Handicap.

Some 73 bowlers have entered the new competition, sponsored by Lockwood Conservative Club, who will also host the final on Thursday, September 11.

Qualifying gets under way on Friday (start 6.30, scratching 6.45).

Skelmanthorpe Windmill (three qualifiers)
