Bowls: Daykin the main man in Merit

While the winner pockets £300, there’s £100 for the runner-up, £50 each for the losing semi-finalists, £25 each for the losing quarter-finalists and £15 for those who go out in the first round.

Laurie Hopkins Menswear are sponsoring a £50 voucher for the best dressed bowler in the event.

Referees are Ged Sykes and Steve Tattersall, while the officials and measurers are Alan Hirst and members of the host club.

Practice for the top half of the draw is 1.25pm on the day and, for the bottom half, 1.40pm.
