YOUNG GLENN
Neil Jones lost out 21-18 to eventual finalist Morley.
The home contingent and -3, 2, 1 men of Milnsbridge Lib – backed up by an enthusiastic crowd – couldn’t overcome their start allowances, and only Ray Whitwam progressed to the quarter-finals after a narrow 21-20 victory against John Abbott of Meltham.
Terry Randerson (Marsden Lib) and Adrian Chapman (Meltham Lib) did their clubs proud by winning through to the semi-finals after some very close contests in the previous rounds.
There was an excellent turn-out with plenty of good banter around the green, and Liberal League secretary Geoff Martin presented the prize money of £400 and commemorative medals to the players after the final.
