Bowls: Steve Hirst wins at Huddersfield’s Griffin Bowling Club after stepping in as reserve

STEVE HIRSTŠran out as winner of The Griffin’s second 16 of the season.

Hirst, who entered as a reserve, enjoyed a relatively comfortable afternoon as another county player Šagain ran out a winner.

Eddie Haigh, known as ‘The Bear’ and the sponsor on the day, was unable to maintain hisŠ high standard ofŠ play in the final with Hirst the 21-8 victor.
