THONGSBRIDGE are celebrating a piece of bowling history.

The Slawit & Golcar Cars Huddersfield League leaders won the Yorkshire Cup for the first time.

Led by Richard Jackson, the Holme Valley side comfortably defeated Spen Victoria 244-180 in front of a big crowd at Cleckheaton Sports.

Thongsbridge had only four losing men, and their lowest scorer posted 18 so it was a comprehensive victory in testing conditions of wind and rain.
