ALMONDBURY Liberal Club duo David Ramsden and Alan Stephenson won the Veterans Pairs Bowling final held at Lockwood Conservative Club.

The pair beat Paul Rangeley and Graham Brook, from Netherton Conservative Club, 21-15 in an excellent final.

Dougie Mellor of the Lockwood Conservative Club sponsored event presented the prizes.

Brian Woodhead the Vets President thanked everyone concerned with particular thanks to the green-keeper for the superb condition of the green after the heavy rains earlier in the week.

Scores – Quarter finals: Iredale and Holroyd 21 Lunn and Nutton 17, Rangeley and Brook 21 Mallinson & Ellis 7, Tracey and Tracey 21 Pollard & Carrig 12, Garside & Sykes 16 Ramsden and Stephenson 21.

Semi finals: Iredale and Holroyd 11 Rangeley and Brook 21, Tracey and Tracey 18 Ramsden and Stephenson 21.
