Bowls: Shepley Crown Green Bowling Club Junior Bowls Team impress

SHEPLEY Bowling Club’s new junior team have enjoyed a promising first season.

A squad of 13 youngsters have joined the club and in their first season they finished third in Section B and also reached the semi-finals of the Huddersfield Junior League Knockout Cup, where they lost narrowly by six points to Penistone A – champions of Section A.

The club have also held their inaugural presentation night with the trophies presented by Dr Martin Dey and Michael Wood. The prize winners were Ryan Richardson, who took the Martin Dey Trophy for the Season’s Best Aggregate +7.6, while the Michael Wood Trophy for the Most Improved Player went to Jessica Mark.

The Trophy for the best Under 12 Player season’s aggregate of +7.5 went to Jack Humpleby.
