YORKSHIRE player Craig Gant won the latest Sixteen at the Griffin Bowling Club.
He beat Mark Bramall 21-7 in the final, producing form which made him a comfortable champion in the event sponsored by Peter Kain.
Gant – wearing a flat cap borrowed from Eddie Haigh! – beat Barry Gibson in the semi-finals while Bramall toppled Alec Byrnes.
In the final, Bramall scored at the first end before Gant had an eight break. Bramall then got a two and a one, but Gant responded with three twos.
Bramall scored two more singles before Gant, yet again, had a break of six, and Bramall managed just one more chalk before Gant ran out.
