Golcar aiming to stay top in double-header

THIS weekend is another double header for Premiership clubs as the Drakes League moves into glorious June!

Tomorrow’s schedule is a direct reverse of last Monday’s Holiday fixtures, giving those defeated clubs an early chance of revenge.

Leaders Golcar entertain struggling Holmfirth, while second-placed Honley visit another of the top flight’s problem sides, Lascelles Hall.

The top two then visit Clayton West and Elland respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Conference teams embark on the first of eight Inter-Conference clashes. They play tomorrow and not on Sunday.

All games start at 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, as Yorkshire started their Championship match against Lancashire at Headingley today, injuries were taking a toll.

England paceman Matthew Hoggard heads the list of absentees from the Roses clash with a broken thumb, while Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Deon Kruis and Ajmal Shahzad are carrying hamstring injuries.

Darren Gough takes over thecaptaincy from Anthony McGrath after being rested in the White Rose’s previous championship outing.
