Rob’s feat unique?

SHEPLEY’S Rob Denton produced a remarkable and possibly unique hat trick in their Drakes Premiership Two League match at Kirkburton.

The veteran Shepley all-rounder bagged the wickets of James Newsome, Gavin Smith and Ashley Smith – all of them caught and bowled!

And that is what could make the feat unique, as investigations on the web, as well as the Guinness Book of Records, have failed to unveil a previous instance of an all caught and bowled hat trick.

Denton finished with figures of five for 36, but sadly for him he still finished on the losing side against League-leaders Kirkburton who, despite Denton’s best efforts, knocked up 256-9, with David Greaves cracking a ton, before Shepley were held to 193-9.
