CUP RIVALRY IS RENEWED!
FORMER Elland skipper Gary Jakeman will be aiming to put one over his old club when he takes his Holmfirth side to Hullen Edge in the Romida Sykes Cup.
The two teams will renew their cup rivalry of the 1970s and 1980s when they clash in this year’s first semi-final on Sunday, July 5.
In the second semi-final Golcar will entertain Skelmanthorpe at Swallow Lane on Sunday, July 12.
Both games should provide plenty of entertainment and all four will be fancying their chances of making a cup final appearance.
Jakeman will know every inch of the Elland ground and will be again hoping for big things from his Derbyshire county man John Sadler, who has scored centuries in the last two rounds against Micklehurst and Slathwaite.
