Davidson rescues our 100% record
OLIVER DAVIDSON made a crucial contribution as Huddersfield’s Joe Lumb Cup side extended their unbeaten winning sequence to four with a splendid 37-run win over the previously unbeaten North Yorkshire and South Durham League.
Huddersfield looked in trouble at the half way stage as the top order crumbled to 91-6 off 25 overs. Alex Kemp, who has been one of the most consistent performers for the side, once again calmly built his innings and made 43 to steady the ship.
Once Kemp had been removed, it was down to Kirkburton’s Davidson to push the score up to a competitive total.
Playing each ball on its merit, the all rounder made a vital 66 when Huddersfield seemed down and out. He was well supported by Jamie Jagger who scored 29 and they put on an eighth-wicket partnership of 87. It was their efforts which enabled the home side to post a competitive total of 224-9.
