Junior cricket: Vindon styars in thrilling tie!

MARSDEN and Micklehurst fought out a thrilling tie!

It was the second of the season in the Under 13s, with both sides scoring 63.

Marsden needed only one run to win off the last over, but they failed to get there.

That last over was bowled by Tom Vindon, who had earlier retired on 28.

For Marsden, Max Coupland took three for nine.

It was a great week for Nuffield, achieving their first win of the season.

They bowled out Shepley for 89 and then reached the target for the loss of six wickets.

Imtiaz was the mainstay of the Hospital batting, retiring on 25.

The top two teams played each other in Areas B and C, with Golcar coming out on top against Delph & Dobcross and Kirkheaton easily overcoming Green Moor.

Thongsbridge restricted Denby Dale to 83 in Area A, with only Sam Tyas topping 25, but then collapsed to 65 all out, only Alex James with 25 showing any resistance to the young Dale attack.
