ALL seven cricket squads at Almondbury Wesleyans are kitted out with new shirts and training gear thanks to an army of sponsors.
Every member from Under 11 to the first team - plus coaches and managers - have got kit in club colours featuring the new crest.
The issuing of the kit, free of charge, has come about because the sponsors have funded around 50% of the cost and players are encouraged to wear the training tops to attend all matches. Each full set of gear has cost £50.
The sponsors are:
1st X1 - Premier Coachworks, based on Blackmoorfoot Road, Crosland Moor.
2nd X1 - Mercedes-Benz of Huddersfield, on Leeds Road. They are also the club's main sponsor.
U17s - Aimbry's, the Almondbury Community Cafe on Northgate, jointly run by Almondbury Parish Church and Almondbury Methodist Church.
U15s - club members Ted and Molly Raper. Ted is secretary of the junior section which hosts 50 squad members and 70 kwik cricketers.
U13s - member Wendy Shaw, who is keen to support the club and especially the junior cricketers.
U13A - Scania, the third largest heavy truck and bus manufacturer in the world.
U11s - Almondbury Methodist Church, based in the centre of the village. The Wes are very closely associated with the church (hence the name and by whom they were founded back in 1920).
The new club crest was funded by Premier Container Logistics Ltd and their owner Alan Stanger who, together with Hoyer UK, sponsored embroidery which appears on the club cricket shirt, polo shirt and rain jacket.
It was produced by club secretary Keith Crawshaw at Mileta Sports, TOG 24, and John Ingleby at engravers Ballcraft in Almondbury.
A sponsors' day will be held at Kaye Lane later this month.
