MELTHAM have a massive weekend in prospect.
For the Mean Lane clubs first and second teams both face a relegation battle for survival on Saturday.
While Meltham's first string will be fighting hard to win at Kirkburton, the second team will host Clayton West in another 'winner stays up' encounter.
Only one point seperates the two clubs, but with a good day forecast, it's a must win situation for both.
Clayton threw themselves a massive lifeline by beating Delph & Dobcross, in one of three games to beat the rain on Sunday, while Meltham had to settle for two apiece against Scholes.
Simon Thornhill was the matchwinner for Clayton, top-scoring with 64 and then taking three wickets in his 12-over stint.
The all-rounder hit 64, and backed up first by Craig Lockwood (46) put on 85 for the third wicket and 68 for the fourth with Mark Butterfield (36) as Clayton made 212-9.
Both Butterfield and Thornhill bagged three wickets and Ian Fisher two as Delph were sent back for 159.
Kexborough, who were already relegated, lost at home to Slaithwaite after an 80-run opening stand between John Hey (46no) and Chris Payne (48) had set the visitors up nicely.
Earlier, Craig Dack and Daniel Taylor had each claimed three wickets to help dismiss Kexborough for 145.
Primrose Hill, who could yet escape the drop (but they will need to beat League champions Elland to do so) were unable to close the gap as their game at Barkisland was one of four to get rained off.
Shelley lost out on a possible runners-up slot after going down by seven wickets to Micklehurst.
Reliable opener David Greaves made 35, but there was little support as 10-man Shelley were bowled out for 120, the Micklehurst bowlers sharing the wickets out between them. John Forrester with 55 then showed the visitors the way home.
Saturday's programme was a complete wash-out, but the two points awarded across the board meant that Broad Oak, who won the Cedar Court Two title had gone through the entire season unbeaten.
* Almondbury and Thongsbridge will contest the Second XI play-off final at Lascelles Hall on Sunday at 1.00.
