ALMONDBURY Wesleyans have secured a four-figure sponsorship deal with Mercedes-Benz of Huddersfield to cover the next three years.
This deal, signed by the club's sponsorship manager Andrew Rhodes and Mercedes' dealer principal Darrell Grimshaw, starts immediately with the Huddersfield business becoming main club sponsor.
Grimshaw, who is a member of Silkstone CC who also play in the Arrow Huddersfield Central League, said: "We are thrilled to be associated with such a progressive club who are heavily involved in junior cricket as well as being at the centre of village life in Almondbury."
Mercedes-Benz are keen to exploit their relationship with the Wesleyans, having forged links with what is a strong, community-based organisation to reach a new audience of customers.
Their name will now be at the forefront for members, friends, spectators and visitors who have made `the Wes' such a hive of activity seven days a week.
Mercedes-Benz will also use the Kaye Lane facilities on a number of flagship event days to showcase their cars and services.
Clubman Rhodes explained: "We are proud to be associated with such a prestigious global brand as Mercedes-Benz after searching for a club or ground sponsor since the development of our new facilities in 2001.
"Their sponsorship is invaluable to the running of our club and the financial support will be used to fund cricket equipment for our seven teams and the further development of our facilities.
"As part of this arrangement Mercedes-Benz are also shirt sponsors of our 2nd XI with their famous three-pointed star logo appearing on the sleeve of the cricket shirt and training gear for the squad, which is made up of experienced adults and emerging youngsters."
New signs recognising the partnership have been put up at the ground entrance and both inside and outside the pavilion.
The signs also display the new club crest, developed by Keith Crawshaw with the help of John Ingeleby from Ballcraft at Almondbury.
Mercedes-Benz of Huddersfield are owned by Pendragon plc and based at the old LB Holliday Dyes site on Leeds Road.
