Wet weather decimates the fixtures

DUE to heavy overnight rain, the Sunday League programme was badly hit for the first time this season.

The West Riding FA Sunday Cup fourth round involving Heywood Irish Centre along with five scheduled league games, all fell by the wayside due to the wet weather.

Heywoods will attempt to play their rescheduled cup tie away to Bradford Park Avenue Rangers tomorrow.

The only game to get the green light was at Dryclough Rec where Division II side Wellington and White Horse met in the league.

And it produced a high-scoring 11-goal contest with Wellington winning 7-4.

Eddie Hamlet and Dominic both notched a brace each for the winners with other goals by Anthony Haigh, Jamie Machon and James Keen.

In reply Scott Newburn also added a brace for White Horse along with other goals from Dan Remhorn and Jamie Pearson.
