Juniors dressed to impress

CUMBERWORTH Under 7s were sponsored by the Lettings Division of estate agents Simon Blyth at the start of this season and have enjoyed a tremendous time so far, knocking in 198 goals and conceding just 20 in the process.

An enthusiastic supporter of the team, Blyth’s Lettings Manager Jackie Crabtree, said: “The Under 7s team are a great group of local boys who all live in or around the local villages to Cumberworth.

“Many of them have been playing football together in one form or another since they were five and this season they have played exceptionally well.

“Matches have taken us as far afield as Bradford Park Avenue, Dewsbury, Norristhorpe, Linthwaite, Honley, Scissett, Skelmanthorpe, Almondbury and Kirkburton.

“I’m delighted to report that so far this season we have won 24 of the 29 matches played and experienced only four defeats.

“This is a tremendous record and one that we hope we can still improve upon by the end of the season.”
