Flynn fires Kirkburton into final

IN-FORM midfielder Ashley Flynn netted twice as County Amateur League club Kirkburton remained on course for a treble by reaching the First Division Cup final.

Dean Calcutt’s men lead their division and are already in the Sheffield Shield final (they play Telecom Sports on April 23).

The Division I cup holders were comfortable victors over Salts in the last-four clash at Campion.

Burton were unable to make the breakthrough in the first half, but remained patient.

They got their reward when Flynn scored twice inside the first 20 minutes of the second period.

Former Town centre-back Adam Wilson wrapped it up on 76 minutes.

Kirkburton have to wait to discover who their final opponents will be after Eastmoor’s match against Wakefield City was postponed.

Kirkburton’s County Amateur League rivals Meltham are in West Riding Challenge Cup semi-final action against Boroughbridge at Woodlesford tonight.
